The premise of the book felt very promising. The concept of time and being able to control who comes and goes felt like a new type of science fiction any reader would love to dwell into.
However, that is where the good parts of the book end. The pacing of the story was all over the place. The messages it tried to convey felt stale and very surface level.
The group gave great emphassies on the character of Graham also and how out of place he felt. A person coming from the past and being perfect in everything with machines, technology, cooking even with intercourse was ridiculous to say the least. Not to mention the fact that, the sex scene came out of nowhere and de-railed the book's direction even more.
Some members of the group also mentioned that it felt more like fanfiction between the author and the character Graham and less like a novel.
All and all, we are willing to give the benefit of the doubt to the author since it is her first book and she seems to be a promising writer, but she still has ways on becoming a good story teller.
