A fascinating, thought-provoking page-turner that maintains the plots fresh in every chapter. It contains an emotional insight into what teens with terminal disease (cancer) live through. Uncertainty and constant inconvenience are just some of what their day-to-day lives have. It exposes the nerve-wrecking conditions in which personal relations develop and to some extent their meaning.
Love is another one of the main themes in the book. An eternity can be contained within a few seconds, and the whole of life can be found any one day within a park - should you look close enough.
The need for man to "leave their mark" as a way of proving to themselves their own existence and bequeathing their legacy is mentioned throughout. This is one of the themes that hit close to home and an important step for me to think about and come to terms with the reality that we could be content simply with not "creating more scars" as the book acutely mentions.
This is an absolute addition to my library and a book that I will be happy to read over (and cry, if need be) in a few years. I recommend this to all.
